As our client base continues to expand, Genuine Cable Group (GCG) is looking for a Customer Service Representative to support our Sales team. In this role, you are responsible for onboarding new customers, managing the day-to-day customer activities such as customer orders, presale inquiries and post-sale transactions. The CSR works collaboratively with internal partners applying excellent customer service and communication skills, order management capabilities and system knowledge.
The hours for this position are 8:00am-5:00pm M-F, with an hour for lunch.

What you’ll do
- Enter customer quotes into our ERP system; obtain correct part numbers and pricing and ensure the correct accounts are used
- Process customer orders over the phone, fax, email, and chat and advise customers on the status of their order using our CRM database to enter notes
- Receive inbound customer calls throughout the day
- Run order reports and work with customers to manage appropriate expectations and proactively resolve problems.
- Provide administrative support to outside sales staff as needed

What you'll do
- Conduct onsite and virtual sales calls to provide technical consultation, product demos, and recommendations based on customer needs
- Partner with Inside Sales teams to document call activity, manage opportunities, and develop quotes
- Develop a thorough understanding of our core product lines and their proper application
- Coordinate with Technical Specialists to assist customers in successfully product implementation and usage
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade publications, and participating in product training at GCG locations as well as manufacturers’ locations
- Perform thorough, meticulous lead follow up and reporting
What you'll bring
- 3-5 years' expertise in technical sales related to electrical industrial automation, or experience working with electrical controls (required)
- Driver’s License with clean driving record (required)
- Knowledge of sales principles, tactics, and strategies
- High degree of professionalism, dependability, self-direction, and time management
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information and sell products and services in a highly competitive environment

We’re looking for a full-time Salesforce Developer to join our Corporate IT Team at GCG. In this role, you will assist with the full development life-cycle from technical design to development, testing, and deployment. You will work with the Salesforce project team and GCG clients to gather requirements and configure the Salesforce application based on business needs with robust documentation. This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago, IL headquarters.
The ideal candidate will primarily be focused on executing against a defined product backlog and driving further utilization, facilitating adoption and improved operations. You will be an integral member of our platform team who will help move the company along its digital transformation journey. Additionally, you will become a subject matter expert in business processes and intuitively understand how to identify waste in the system and drive process improvement to drive accuracy across the business.
What you’ll do
- Lead the complete development process from requirement analysis to deployment independently, as well as lead the work of external consultants
- Collaborate with the team for code review and unit testing
- Manage post-deployment activities including knowledge transfer, process documentation, and application bug fixes
- Own, support, and maintain all Salesforce applications
- Design, develop, test, document, and deploy Salesforce solutions
- Manage Salesforce configuration including user interface with all relevant choices
- Conduct Application development and integration with backend ERP as well as analytics portals
- Design a business portal
- Requirements gathering, create solutions, and/or deploy solutions to end users
- Leverage excellent technical project management experience
- Ensure complex customer workflows into Salesforce specific outputs
- Create technical approaches and plans to encompass all needed procedures
- Collaborate with the pre-sales support and solutions architecture team on integrations and solution deployment
- Communicate with project teams regarding status, technical issues, and creative solutions
- Meet with project managers to determine CRM needs
- Develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform
- Design, code, and implement Salesforce applications
- Create timelines and development goals
- Develop end to end Salesforce solutions using Configuration and Customization - APEX Class, Triggers, Visualforce pages, Lightning components, etc.
- Automate business processes using Salesforce automation tools, such as Process Builder, Workflows, Formulas, Flow, Assignment Rules and email Alerts
- Build integrations between Salesforce and external applications using REST, SOAP APIs, oAuth and Single Sign-On
- Migrate changes from development to test to production
- Perform data updates / migration using Data Loader and other similar tools
- Participate in scrum meetings, analyze assign user stories, identify/resolve gaps in functional user stories/business requirements
- Adhere to defined coding standards and develop well-structured, maintainable and easy to understand code
- Perform independent code reviews and write unit/integration test cases to achieve 85% test coverage
- Debug and resolve issues and/or defects which may be reported as a result of faults in the production system
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of experience configuring and building Salesforce.com solutions
- Advanced business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating solutions, and/or deploying solutions to end users
- Technical project management experience

- Extensive experience building enterprise scale applications on Service and Community Clouds

- Advanced understanding of Salesforce architecture and development best practices
- Highly skilled in building custom integrations on Salesforce platform
- Working knowledge of web services development using REST, SOAP, etc
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate and present to technical and non-technical audiences
