Overview

GCG is currently seeking a Plant Manager to join the Paige team at our Columbus, Nebraska facility!

 

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing operations at our electrical assembly plant in Nebraska. As the senior on-site leader, you will drive operational excellence by ensuring timely production, championing safety, and fostering collaboration across departments including purchasing, warehousing, and R&D. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives on building high-performing teams and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Hours: 7:30am-3:30pm Mon-Fri

Location: 1679 East 29th Columbus, Nebraska 68601

 
What You'll Do
  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement assembly operations strategies aligned with company objectives.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

     

  • Operational Management:

    • Oversee daily assembly operations to ensure timely and efficient production.
    • Manage production schedules, staffing, and resources to meet delivery timelines.
    • Communicate production schedule changes promptly to sales and customers.
    • Maintain site safety, compliance, and regulatory adherence across departments.
    • Serve as the primary site liaison with corporate leadership and external stakeholders.

     

  • Quality Control:

    • Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer requirements.
    • Partner with quality assurance to address and resolve quality concerns.
    • Promote a quality-focused mindset throughout the assembly team.

     

  • Financial Management:

    • Manage the plant’s operational budget.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving and efficient production methods.
    • Monitor and act on financial performance metrics.

     

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the production team.
    • Ensure cross-training and skill development to meet future production needs.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide actionable feedback.
    • Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

     

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify and implement improvements within assembly operations.
    • Apply lean manufacturing principles to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Optimize workflow, space usage, and equipment layout.
    • Stay current with industry innovations to maintain competitiveness.

     

  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Partner with engineering, supply chain, and other departments to streamline workflows.
    • Provide regular updates on plant operations to senior management.
    • Coordinate activities across site departments, including those not directly supervised.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations

  • At least 5 years in a plant leadership or management role

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and ISO 9001 quality systems

  • Demonstrated success leading and developing teams

  • Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills

  • High integrity and a leadership style grounded in values and continuous improvement
