Paige, a GCG company, is currently seeking a Strategic Accounts Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives across the Midwest and Northeast regions!
This role is designed for a driven sales professional who combines deep technical aptitude, strong relationship-building skills, and a strategic mindset to expand market share and drive sustainable revenue growth with investor-owned utilities (IOUs), cooperatives, and municipal providers.
As our Utilities Strategic Account Manager, you'll drive success with high-value utility customers, playing a critical part in shaping Paige’s utility offerings by ensuring product specifications, standards, and solutions align with evolving industry requirements. This will be accomplished through close collaboration with internal engineering teams, sourcing leadership, and key manufacturing partners.
You will also be instrumental in identifying, developing, and promoting value-added solutions within the utility space, translating customer and market insights into actionable opportunities that strengthen Paige’s product portfolio and competitive positioning.
While this role offers a remote work arrangement, we are seeking candidates located within the Midwestern United States (Ohio, Indiana, or Pennsylvania) to facilitate in-person meetings with strategic customer accounts in this area.
What You'll Do
- Lead and execute a regional sales strategy tailored to the unique needs of IOUs, cooperatives, and municipal utilities across the Midwest and Northeast
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within strategic utility accounts
- Own and grow a portfolio of high-value, strategically important accounts while identifying and developing new regional opportunities
- Partner closely with internal inside sales teams to support day-to-day execution, including ensuring RFPs, bids, and customer requests are responded to accurately, competitively, and in a timely manner
- Provide guidance and market context to inside sales teams to help prioritize opportunities and improve response quality and speed, without direct supervisory responsibility
- Partner with internal engineering, sourcing, and manufacturer partners to ensure Paige product specifications align with current and future utility standards and customer requirements
- Provide market-driven input on product development, specification updates, and sourcing strategies to support utility growth initiatives
- Identify gaps in current utility offerings and help define value-added solutions that differentiate Paige in the market
- Serve as a regional subject-matter leader by deepening market and product knowledge and sharing insights with internal sales teams
- Act as a conduit between the customer and Paige, ensuring customer strategies, challenges, standards, and future-state plans are clearly understood and communicated internally
- Drive long-term account planning, including understanding customer business performance, competitive landscape, and upcoming initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution, exceptional service, and alignment across sales, operations, and supply chain
- Identify and cultivate new strategic partnerships that support regional and company-wide growth objectives
- Mentor and support other sales team members by sharing best practices, market intelligence, and customer insights
- Serve as a key voice of the customer for the Utilities market, influencing product direction, sourcing decisions, and long-term solution strategy
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years' experience in technical sales specifically focused on the utilities market; previous experience specifically focused on sale of wire and cable product strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field; relevant experience considered considered in lieu of degree
- Driver’s License with clean driving record (required)
- Knowledge of sales principles, tactics, and strategies
- High degree of professionalism, dependability, self-direction, and time management
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information and sell products and services in a highly competitive environment
- Ability to organize and balance multiple priorities
- Ability to travel up to 60%
What we offer
- Competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 to $150,000 depending on applicable experience; eligibility for annual bonus based on company and individual performance
- Comprehensive Health Coverage: Multiple medical plan options (CDHP and PPO) to get you the coverage you need
- Robust Financial Security: Company-paid life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, plus options for supplemental critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity plans
