GCG Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead a dynamic technical sales team in driving growth and strengthening customer partnerships across the Midwest.
In this high-impact role, you’ll combine strategic vision with hands-on leadership to guide a team of outside sales professionals who deliver cutting-edge industrial automation solutions. You’ll cultivate a customer-first culture, develop sales associates, and build strong partnerships with vendors while identifying new market opportunities and accelerating growth across your territory.

Preferred location for this role is within the state of Illinois to allow for management of outside sales staff across the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional sales team focused on customer success and growth
Design and implement strategic sales and marketing plans that align with business goals
Monitor key performance indicators and market data to identify new opportunities and guide pricing strategies
Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and customers to support growth objectives
Drive channel development, sales forecasting, and territory planning activities
Partner with sales leadership and other business units to ensure alignment across the organization
Support team members in resolving customer issues and negotiating contracts
Attend trade shows and customer events to promote GCG and strengthen market presence
Manage budgets, oversee expenditures, and ensure compliance with financial targets
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy and decision-making
5–7 years of experience in technical sales, marketing, or engineering
5+ years of recent experience in industrial automation distribution strongly preferred
Proven success leading, coaching, and motivating a dispersed sales team
In-depth knowledge of sales principles, tactics, and market development strategies
Experience using CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite preferred)
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence across levels
A clean driving record and the willingness to travel up to 50% for customer visits, events, and team development opportunities
Competitive base salary ranging from $120,000 to $160,000 per year dependent on industry relevant management experience; eligibility for bonus incentive based on team performance
