GCG Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) is seeking a Collaborative Robotics (Cobots) Product Specialist to help drive the growth of our Cobot portfolio.
In this role, you’ll serve as a product evangelist for our cobot product lines, combining your technical expertise with a passion for customer engagement to become the go-to expert who empowers sales teams, educates customers, and ensures successful adoption of Cobot solutions.
You’ll work side by side with account managers, business development leaders, and engineering teams to translate real customer needs into automation solutions that deliver measurable impact. As a trusted advisor, you’ll help shape forecasts, expand opportunities, and accelerate Cobot related business growth. This role offers a work from home arrangement when not engaged in work related travel however the travel expectation for this role would be approximately 50% to facilitate frequent time spent with customers, sales teams, and our supplier partners in the cobot space. Preferred location for the incumbent to this role is the greater Cincinnati area.
Serve as the subject matter expert on Cobot platforms and applications (e.g., Universal Robots, FANUC, Yaskawa).
Conduct customer needs assessments and recommend tailored Cobot solutions.
Deliver technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept validations, and application workshops.
Support deployment success through troubleshooting and integration planning.
Partner with sales teams to identify opportunities, shape proposals, and deliver ROI/value-case presentations.
Influence pipeline growth by uncovering new applications, customers, and industries for Cobot adoption.
Build relationships with OEMs, integrators, and end users, serving as a trusted advisor on Cobot safety, deployment, and integration.
Represent GCG at trade shows, industry events, and customer seminars.
Deliver training sessions for sales teams, integrators, and customers.
Create technical content (guides, application notes, case studies) to accelerate adoption and showcase customer success stories.
Provide market intelligence and product feedback to refine internal strategy and supplier roadmaps.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, automation, or related technical field (advanced degree a plus).
5+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or industrial distribution with direct exposure to collaborative robotics.
Strong knowledge of Cobot programming, safety standards, and integration challenges.
Proven ability to support sales efforts and influence commercial outcomes without carrying a quota.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Experience collaborating with OEMs, integrators, and end users in both technical and commercial discussions.
Willingness to travel up to 50–60% for customer visits, training, and industry events.
