Overview

Paige, a GCG Company, is seeking a Sr Field Service Engineer to join our growing Renewables team!

 

As our Sr Field Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the customer field teams for Paige Renewables. You will ensure proper training, adherence to installation guidelines, and exceptional service for our industry-leading products, including 35kV MV Cable, 2kV AL & CU DC Cable, custom over-molded wiring harnesses, IPC connectors, and Load Break Disconnects.

 

You will be instrumental in visiting customer sites to address field challenges, evaluating customer processes, and collaborating with internal teams to develop robust installation guidelines and detailed manuals. These efforts will not only support warranty claims but also enhance customer satisfaction by delivering service that sets us apart in the industry.

 

Our Renewables group, launched in 2019, has quickly become a leader in the space, supporting upwards of 14GW of renewable projects and fostering strong relationships with top EPC firms. You will work closely with our facilities in Nebraska—where our quality tests are performed—and Mexico, where 99% of our harnesses are kitted and organized.

When not engaged in work related travel (50% to 75% depending on project volume), this role offers a remote work arrangement.

 

What you’ll do

  • Provide and expand our field quality control services to our energy clients across the US 

  • Conduct field visits to assess issues, review customer processes, and provide tailored solutions 

  • You’ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and polished communication and problem-solving skills to enhance both your credibility and that of our brand 
  • Collaborate with project managers to enhance and update installation guidelines, ensuring they are comprehensive and user-friendly 
  • Develop detailed manuals to assist customers with warranty claims and installation support 
  • Provide on-site training, product demonstrations, and ongoing support to customers 
  • Train customer field teams to ensure proper installation techniques and adherence to guidelines 
  • Anticipate challenges and support the day to day of owners and developers
  • Support product testing and review processes to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency 
  • Work directly with manufacturers, project managers, customer site and office teams, sales teams, and quality teams to uphold the highest standards in construction and installation 
 

 

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum 6 years of demonstrated proficiency managing Utility Scale Solar projects in a Superintendent or Construction Manager capacity 
  • Experience working with Owners / Developers / contractors in the energy market 
  • Associate’s degree or certification in electrical engineering or related field and / or equivalent work experience 
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams / schematics, SLD and Electrical Construction Drawings 
  • Electrical Journeymen’s License preferred but not required 
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time to visit customer sites and perform duties of the role 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to work in remote locations full-time 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve field issues 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration 
  • Knowledge of installation processes and product testing protocols 
  • Ability to work across teams and with customers to deliver high-quality service and support 
  • Prior experience in planning, design, design management and project management will be highly regarded, as will experience in Owner’s Engineer roles and advisory (technical advisor/due diligence) roles
