Overview

GCG Automation and Factory Solutions (AFS) is seeking a Repair & Services Project Specialist to join our growing services team!

In this hands-on role, you'll manage small-to-medium automation service and repair projects from end to end—overseeing everything from pricing and resource alignment to execution and customer satisfaction.  With a focus on accuracy, efficiency, problem-solving, and process discipline, you'll play a key role by exercising discretion and judgment to reduce delays, maintain data integrity, and support the overall effectiveness (e.g., service delivery, cost management, customer outcomes) of repair and service operations. You'll serve as a liaison between supporting teams (application and field engineers), repair partners, and our internal systems, maintaining visibility of project status, ensuring the right expertise is in place to meet project requirements, and verifying work is completed to company standards. 

 

This role will require occasional travel to customer sites as well as other company facilities from time to time, to assist with critical repair and services opportunities.  When not engaged in work-related travel, this role offers a hybrid schedule, reporting into our Cranberry Township, PA office 3-4 days a week.  

 

What You’ll Do

  • Leads small-to-medium repair and service projects, sets priorities, adjusts plans, and makes decisions on parts, pricing, and resource alignment to meet operational, financial, and customer needs. 

  • Evaluates requests, approves or adjusts pricing within guidelines, and ensures accurate documentation.  
  • Authorizes quotes and invoices to meet customer and company requirements. 
  • Enter, update, and track repair quotes in ERP/CRM systems (P21, Salesforce). 
  • Process customer purchase orders, generate invoices, and confirm order accuracy. 
  • Develops logistics strategies, selects vendors, and resolves escalated delivery or compliance issues. 
  • Monitors project performance and resource utilization, conducts site visits when necessary, identifies risks, and implements corrective actions to ensure success. 
  • Partners with cross-functional teams, influences key decisions, and acts as primary liaison for escalated customer and vendor matters. 
  • Work proactively with repair vendors to follow up on open projects, minimize delays, and ensure schedule adherence. 
  • Manages and interprets vendor agreements and pricing structures; recommends changes to optimize cost and delivery. 
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and operational standards. 
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and other operational projects as assigned, up to and including occasional travel to customer sites and/or other GCG AFS locations. 
 
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred).
  • 2–3+ years of experience in project coordination, operations, or service management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project Management training, degree, or equivalent experience helpful
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., P21, Salesforce) preferred
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with an ability to maintain process consistency and represent company decisions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.
  • High degree of discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information.
