Overview

As GCG's Automation and Factory Solutions (AFS) division continues to grow and evolve, we are seeking an energetic Buyer with a continuous improvement mindset and strong data analysis and critical thinking skills to join our procurement team! 

 

As a Buyer with our Automation division, you'll support purchasing and procurement activities by executing day-to-day transactions, including Purchase Orders, returns, buy forecasting, and ensuring timely delivery of products and services to support customer needs. You'll participate in local supplier sourcing and selection, including pricing negotiation, and quotation management, establishing and maintaining item parameters to align with local business activity, and coordinate with procurement management to drive centralized supply and supplier activities.

 

This hybrid role requires working onsite 2 to 3 days per week at our office located at 2400 Technical Drive, Miamisburg, OH. 

 

What you'll do

  • Ensure processes and procedures are performed in a compliant manner (ordering within lead times and minimum order quantities, minimizing stock-outs, etc.)
  • Manage purchase orders processed from requisition to goods receipt in accordance with ERP/MRP and customer requirements
  • Procure goods or services as required by business at the right time, price, and quantity
  • Manage daily systems, processes, and procedures
  • Work with suppliers and cross-functional customer support / sales teams to communicate price changes with appropriate lead times
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement
  • Participate in supplier evaluations, scorecards, and reviews
  • Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process
  • Perform other job-related duties as required

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a buyer, purchasing, and/or supply chain role
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel proficiency is a MUST)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
