Overview

GCG is currently seeking a Director of Collaborative Robot Products & Services to join our Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) team!  This is a high-impact leadership role focused on scaling our collaborative robotics (cobot) strategy and delivering turnkey robotic solutions that drive customer value and business growth.

 

As our Director of Cobots Products & Services, you will drive growth, innovation, and customer value through our Cobot offerings, owning the success of programming, installing, integrating and delivering Cobot solutions from our strategic supplier partnerships to our customers.  You will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain, Vendor Relations, and Operations to deliver market-leading robotic solutions!

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement from our Chesterfield, MO office however the role will require up to 50% travel to facilitate install and commissioning at key customer sites as well as meetings with vendor partners and company leadership at our regional offices. 

 

What you'll do

 

  • Own and drive the strategy and execution of the Cobot product portfolio, aligned with company objectives and customer needs
  • Scale our Cobot program into a market-leading systems integrated offering by building technical, implementation and installation capabilities across the business
  • Lead product lifecycle management, from building, to installation, to support and to end-of-life, including new product introductions
  • Drive supplier management and strategic partnerships with leading Cobot manufacturers and ecosystem providers
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing and Sales Leadership to deliver Cobot-related revenue streams, value propositions, and GTM (go-to-market) strategies
  • Build technical sales and delivery capability across our organization (Sales Engineers, Application Engineers, Integrators)
  • Oversee and be accountable for the delivery and execution of value add & integrated Cobot projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes and customer success
  • Lead cross-functional project management initiatives to optimize product availability, technical readiness, and operational processes
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategy
  • Develop and track KPIs for program performance (revenue, margin, project success, customer adoption, operational efficiency)
  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally as the face of our Cobot offering
  • Mentor, coach, and lead cross-functional teams to strengthen organizational capability

 

What you'll bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Robotics, or related technical discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of direct, proven experience with system integration or related field
  • Demonstrated success in scaling full system integrated solutions and programs in a distributor, integrator, or industrial OEM environment
  • Strong project management and change management skills (PMP or similar certification a plus).
  • Deep understanding of operational processes related to Cobot (Robots) products (inventory, kitting, staging, delivery, install & commissioning)
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and strategic partnerships
  • Ability to manage P&L and contribute to commercial growth
  • Familiarity with automation safety standards and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
