Overview

Seacoast, GCG Company, is currently hiring an Inventory Control Manager to join our tight knit team in Chesapeake, VA! In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of two associates while overseeing inventory, completing root cause analysis, reconciling system errors, and analyzing inventory data.

 

Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm Mon-Fri (after hours and occasional weekend work is required based on company needs)

Location: 3800 Cook Blvd. Chesapeake, VA 23323

 

What You'll Do

  • Develop, implement, and manage inventory control procedures and processes from start to finish 
  • Oversee physical inventory including audits, cycle counts, tracking inventory, and comparing physical inventory to ERP reports
  • Reconcile system errors, complete root cause analysis, and create inventory reports to present to managers 
  • Work directly with customers, vendors, and other departments to address and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline inventory management, reduce operational costs, and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and product rotation
  • Lead a team of two associates, performing manager duties such as training, continuous improvement, employee development, and corrective measures
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed

 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, supply chain, or operations, with a strong focus on ERP system integration and process improvement
  • Sit down forklift experience required
  • ERP experience required (Oracle experience a plus)
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, etc) required
  • Experience with root cause analysis and implementing process improvements
  • Proven track record of managing inventory from receipt to shipment 
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and develop employees, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices
  • Experience in a distribution or warehouse setting
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, bend and lift 50lbs
