Overview

Seacoast a GCG Company, is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Chesapeake, VA!

 

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for operating assigned equipment, performing inspections to ensure product quality, and maintaining compliance with customer specifications and company standards. This role involves processing and prioritizing orders, conducting final and in-process inspections, and handling necessary documentation for shipments. The Inspector must adhere to safety protocols, maintain a clean work environment, and communicate effectively with internal teams regarding discrepancies or unclear instructions.

 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm

Pay Rate: $20/hr with full benefits

Location: 3800 Cook Blvd. Chesapeake, VA 23323

 

What You'll Do

  • Utilize calibrated measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measures, rulers, and microscopes) to inspect materials and finished products for conformance to specifications
  • Prioritize and process orders in the correct sequence, using reference charts/specs; ensure compliance with required documentation
  • Report material discrepancies, unclear instructions, or maintenance needs to Lead/Manager; communicate with sales regarding orders issues or customer documentation requirements
  • Perform in-process inspections, verifying correct materials, strip lengths, tinning, and final product quality
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE and hazardous material handling
  • Utilize label printers, ERP systems, custom forms, and Scanners
  • Operate equipment including cut/strip, tubing Cutter, coil head, spooling, forklifts, scales, and shrink wrap machines
  • Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments including REACH, RoHS, CoC
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

 

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 
  • One to three years of related experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment and/or experience as a machine operator
  • Experience with production equipment and measuring tools preferred
  • Ability to operate a calculator
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
  • Ability to operate machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and take responsibility for own actions
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, bend and lift 50lbs
