Overview

GCG’s Connectivity & Power Solutions (CPS) division is seeking a Director of Strategic Accounts to join our commercial team and drive business growth with high-level, multi-site customer accounts!
 
As our Strategic Accounts Director, you will play an integral role in the management of key accounts across North America.  You will strengthen and fortify business relationships with targeted Industrial OEM companies.  You will serve as lead point of contact for those accounts, identifying opportunities to increase GCG's share of wallet while collaborating with the Strategic Accounts team to develop and execute business growth plans.
 
Additionally, you will provide GCG Sr Leadership with periodic status updates regarding strategic growth plans, progress, and anticipated results.

*This role offers a remote work arrangement however frequent travel (50%) would be expected to facilitate key customer meetings.  Location within Central or Eastern time zone is preferred
 
What you’ll do
  • Initiate strategic growth plans with large, multi-site and possibly multi-national accounts
  • Forecast monthly sales/gross profit targets and ensure annual goals are achieved
  • Operate in a high-stakes, hands-on environment with mid/long term perspective
  • Chair and execute both virtual and face-to-face customer meetings
  • Utilize strategic, critical, and creative thinking in understanding customer pain points and building value for GCG
  • Manage account growth with trusted partners, internal sales reps, and other integral GCG departments to ensure satisfaction of the customer’s Primary Business Objectives (PBOs)
  • Leverage Key GCG vendor relationships (product bandwidth, product expertise, engineering/research & development resources) to help strategic accounts meet their Primary Business Objectives (PBOs)
  • Understand market verticals through research and business network activity
  • Facilitate quarterly business review meetings – internal and external
  • Maintain CRM and work to build a robust sales opportunity pipeline
  • Help negotiate customer contracts
  • Attend relevant trade events
What you’ll bring
  • Undergraduate degree in business management or related field
  • 5+ years of Major / Key Account sales experience required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM system
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize ERP systems
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Team oriented
  • Experience with metric driven work environment
  • Ability to travel for up to 50% of the year, including some overnight travel
