Overview

GCG is currently seeking a focused, career-oriented Business Development Representative to support our Automation & Factory Solutions sales team!  

 

As our Industrial Automation BDM, you'll leverage your expertise to provide cutting-edge solutions to our valued customers.  You'll develop a deep understanding of GCG's industrial automation product lines, nurturing existing client relationships while actively pursuing new business opportunities in the Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky markets. Your responsibilities will include negotiating contracts, coordinating with internal teams, and identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities to drive revenue growth.

 

The ideal candidate possesses 2-4 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial distribution, with strong communication and follow up skills, proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office applications, and a desire to learn and grow in the industrial automation space.

What you’ll do

 

  • Develop in-depth familiarity with GCG industrial automation products to provide customers with best-in-class solutions 
  • Nurture relationships with existing GCG customers to increase sales revenue as product offerings continue to expand 
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing agreements with customers and vendors as book of business steadily grows 
  • Coordinate with Sales Manager to identify when to engage Technical Resources team 
  • Coordinate with Customer Service team to address customer inquiries and quote requests 
  • Work with Account Generation Managers to identify and pursue new accounts  
  • Proactively identify & pursue up-sell and/or cross-sell opportunities within base of assigned existing accounts 
  • Travel to customer sites as need in the Kentucky and Ohio markets 

 

What you’ll bring

 

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • 2 to 4 years of business-to-business sales or previous experience within manufacturing or industrial automation a plus  
  • Thorough, demonstrated understanding of all aspects of sales process including calling, emailing, handling of objections, closing, and follow-up 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel) required 
  • Previous experience with SalesForce or comparable CRM platform strongly preferred 
  • Previous exposure to Epicor P21 or comparable ERP system preferred but not required
