GCG is currently seeking a Director of Division Operations to oversee the day-to-day activities of distribution operations for the facilities in our Midwest / Central region, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.
In this role, you will have oversight of several warehouse locations throughout the central United States, including directing the activities of each facility, assessing needs and opportunities, conducting strategic planning, championing ongoing operational excellence initiatives, and ensuring compliance. You will supervise warehouse management staff, provide guidance and coaching to all employees as required, while ensuring that budgets, metrics, and performance indicators are consistently set and achieved.
This is a remote position with regular business travel to our facilities in the Central & Eastern Time Zones.
What you’ll do
- Adhere to quantitative and qualitative established KPIs, guidelines, and standards to evaluate the company’s efficiency and effectiveness; identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Lead and/or support the hiring, training, and development of Warehouse Management, Warehouse Supervisors, and Customer Operations Managers, inclusive of partnering with HR on performance management, disciplinary, performance improvement, and termination
- Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
- Ensure work environments are adequate and safe
- Oversee Distribution Operations, ensuring each operation is reaching goals set by departmental and senior leadership
- Plan, direct, control, implement, evaluate, and monitor operating expenses
- Communicate and explain new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meet with entire operations staff to champion changes, answer questions, and maintain morale
- Improve customer service to internal and external customers with a focus on satisfaction through policy and procedural changes
- Lead communications, coordination, and integration of efforts among operations teams and other departments to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes
- Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
- 10+ years of warehouse operations experience, including oversight of multiple facilities/locations across a dispersed footprint
- Previous experience in Industrial Automation preferred
- Thorough understanding of lean warehousing practices and theories with a focus on distribution
- Ability to understand and manage Profit and Loss Statements
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent managerial and diplomacy skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and/or related software
- Excellent organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
